VOC / Volatile Organic Compounds Testing
Volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, are chemicals that off-gas into indoor air from everyday sources — new flooring and cabinetry, paint, furniture, cleaning products, and construction materials. Because VOCs are typically invisible and often odorless at low concentrations, testing is the only reliable way to know your actual exposure level.
VOC levels tend to be highest in newly built or newly renovated homes, where fresh materials are still off-gassing, and in homes with poor ventilation. Elevated VOC exposure has been associated with headaches, respiratory irritation, and longer-term health concerns with sustained exposure.
What we test for
- Indoor VOC concentrations, sampled from representative areas of the home
- Comparison against outdoor control samples to isolate indoor sources
- Common household and construction-related compounds
What you get
Samples are processed through an accredited laboratory and returned with professional interpretation — not just a list of chemical names, but a clear explanation of what the results mean for your home.
